Transportation

Book your flight to San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Sonoma Airport Express BusThe easiest way to get to the gasshuku site is to take a two hour ride on the Sonoma County Airport Express bus from SFO to the DoubleTree Hotel in Rohnert Park.

Gasshuku staff will provide transportation from the hotel to the gasshuku site.  Please remember, accommodations at Sonoma State University are available during the event only.

If you are looking for inexpensive housing in San Francisco, you might consider the San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf Hostel. Several gasshuku attendees are planning to stay at the hostel. The rate is $35 per night for dormitory-style accommodations, right near Fisherman’s Wharf in downtown San Francisco. To make reservations, please call the hostel at 1-877-464-6783.

From San Francisco, we recommend that you return to the airport and take the Sonoma Airporter directly to the DoubleTree Hotel near the gasshuku site. When reading the Sonoma Airporter schedule, please remember that you will be taking the bus from “SFO San Francisco” to “Doubletree Hotel Rohnert Park”.

If you are interested in a little more comfortable accommodations the night before the event, we have reserved a few rooms on Monday, July 2nd, at the DoubleTree Hotel near the gasshuku site. This is the hotel where the airport shuttle arrives from the San Francisco airport.

If you want to reserve a room, please go to: www.doubletree.hilton.com/Rohnert-Park and enter this group code: 617 for July 2nd or 618 for July 6th.  Or you can call:  DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sonoma Wine Country at 1-707-584-5466.  Reference this reservation number: #1001463301, and our group, Shintaido of America, and the name, Stephen Billias. Then you can book one of these rooms at the group rate of $139.00 a night on July 2nd, or $199.00 a night on July 6th.

Finally, if you haven’t done so yet, please fill out the short form below that provides us your flight information. That way we can check to make sure that you get to the gasshuku site on time.
